Inter Club Match v Stowmarket - Away - 1th March 2020
Match cancelled in view of the current Coronavirus issues.
Out, out brief match report.
Golfers are but walking shadows, poor Seniors,
That strut and fret their swings upon the course
And then are heard no more.
This is a tale,
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
To play or not to play, that was the question.
Whether 'twas nobler for the Vets to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous virus,
Or to take arms against a sea of Stowmarketeers
By opposing them. To hook - to shank
No more; and by a putt to say we end
The heartache of the thousand natural plagues
That flesh is heir to: 'tis an outcome
Devoutly to be wish'd. To play, to sleep,
To sleep perchance to dream - ay, there's the rub.
For in that sleep of golf what dreams may come,
When we may have shuffled off that Brett Vale loss
Must give us pause - there's the hope
That makes a calamity of so many poor Coronus.
And so we begin the end.
Many thanks to our Bard from Great Cornard for his thoughts on the cancelled Stowmarket match. Thanks Roger.
