A total of 28 pairs contested the Seniors 4BBB on Gainsborough yesterday, and enjoyed a fine October morning with sunshine and balmy temperatures.
The conditions brought out some good scoring with the top seven teams all bagging 40 points or more.
Desperately unlucky David Seymour had the most bizarre incident of the day on the second hole, when the shaft of his driver broke in the middle of his downswing before making any contact. But he and partner Phiil Hickley still managed to come back with 36 points though.
Eventual winners on the day, with an untouchable 46 points, were Graham Vandervord and Mike Clare. Second with 45 points were Tony Carman and Brian Willsher and third with 42 points were Pete Hele and Ray Firth.
