Inter Club Match v Gosfield - Away - 2nd May
GOSFIELD 4 STOKE BY NAYLAND 4
Game 1 . John P & Mick H.
One up after 1st, then lost the 2nd and then never regained honour until 10th, when Mick found a couple of chips on 10th and 11th which spurred up JP. 2 down after 9 then won next 4 holes. Then being 2 up never looked back
( I am sure they won as can't read the bottom of page 6 on the notes.)
Game 2 Brian R & Sir Bob F.
Great day Bob and myself played good recovering shoots but the Gosfield replacement player was a previous club champion (yep an excuse). We did extremely well to take them to the 18 and their birdie 4 beat our 6 and not even Bob's stories did not put them off .
Game 3 Malcolm N.& Dave S.
Dave and Malcolm had a good round of golf, they (presume that's we) dove tailed nicely and with the help of Dave's splendid fairway woods closed the match out 6&5 .
Game 4.Tony D.& Mal J.
Basically we were sh#t and they were not . (extra narrative to keep audience excited)
We knew we were in for a tough game when their high handicapper told us he had a bad round on Monday and shot 104. So it proved when he parred first 3 holes. They then were 2 up and never recovered. Lost 7& 5
Game 5 .Richard M & Dick L.
Most amusing moment was Richards face when he realised he was giving shots all round. Apart from that we stayed down till the 16th when we shook hands .Saw some Egyptian geese (ask Dick for story)
Game 6 Rob D.& Andy H.

Rob and Andy enjoyed a very tight match against Tony and Chris. Eventually prevailing 1 up. Played in a friendly spirit on the 16th hole 7th on the course ( now getting bored ) Tony was pin high in 2 with a shot .The match about to go level until Andy hit a good pitch, 2 bounces then in the hole , so hole not halved and this helped Rob and Andy win .

Game 7 Tony C & Phil B
SbN boys went 3 down then pulled it back to all square. Then dropped it back to 2 down. Back to all square but could not nail enough putts to lose 2.0
Tony asked Phil what was the best thing about his game and Phil said the after match shower ( I was not there so you will have to ask them what happened in the shower)
Game 8 Eric F & Rob S.
Played John and Chris SBN giving 9 and 11 shots . Started at 10th in front of members who came over and gave our game the honour so very polite. Holes 10 and 18th saw SbN 4 up . 1 to 6 saw SbN win 4&3
Great course and great company.
