Disappointingly only 32 entrants in todays 1st Round of the Seniors Championship on a Gainsborough course that has improved dramatically in the past few weeks and, in particular, the greens which were true and much faster following recent hollow tining and dressing. Just wait until they manage to get the greens ironed - will we be able to cope ?

The Championship was introduced, not too many years ago, as the leading competition of the year which makes todays entry very disappointing.

Many congratulations to John Parkinson (best Gross score) and Barry Hitchcock (best Net score).

In the next day or so it will become clearer as to which members have succeeded in progressing into Round 2 next week.
