Captain Pete was joined this week by Harry to take on the might of two previous Senior’s Captains - the two Petes on a particularly pleasant morning although the course was yet to benefit from the recent rain showers.
After a gentle couple of halved holes the Capt / Pro duo made the most of some iffy putting to take a 2 hole lead. Some very close holes followed resulting in the Capt / Pro team taking a single hole lead into the back 9.
The challengers, clearly revitalised at the halfway hut, took the 10th (great par PTG) and the 11th to lead for the first time in the match, a lead that they then lost, got back, lost and got back resulting in taking a 1 hole lead onto the 17th tee.
Yet another enormous Harry drive seemed to be buried deep in the trees to the left but somehow both Capt / Pro managed pars to even the match. Off to the 18th with no one troubling the green with their tee shots - 4 reasonable chips but the Capt / Pro team then putted solidly to take the match by 1 hole !!
All 4 retired to the bar where the Captain thanked the challengers for a very close and competitive match and their generosity towards his charity.
