YULETIDE SCRAMBLE - 11th DECEMBER
UPDATE - A STAGGERING £1300 HAS BEEN SENT TO THE SUDBURY FOODBANK. SPECIAL THANKS TO EVERYONE
My belated drive-in was held earlier this morning, at the third attempt.
It wasn’t an overwhelming drive, but it was straight and in play, hurtling through the air for a valiant 167 yard attempt. There were 10 lucky winners, who all guessed the exact distance and will receive £15.60 each. The sweep has raised at least £380 for my charity of the year, Nayland Community First Responders. This may turn out to be a little more as a few people have donated their winnings back to the charity. For those winners who were not in attendance, your VC, Graham Cork, will be in touch to request bank details for payment of your prize. My thanks to those who were present this morning for supporting me today. The Yuletide scramble itself raised in excess of £1000 for the Sudbury Storehouse Foodbank. Once again, thanks to everyone for your very generous donations. Final figures will be included in the senior newsletter at the beginning of January.
By now, you should have received an invoice directly from the club for 2025 senior membership. This is exactly the same procedure as the beginning of 2024. Existing members will be invoiced for £10 and there are 4 members who joined in the latter part of the year who will be invoiced at the first year rate for new members of £20.
Thank you all for your continued support of the section and I send you seasonal greetings and best wishes for 2025.

Senior Captain 2025
The Yuletide Scramble was, as it ever is, a great deal of fun helped by a Shotgun Start ensuring that everyone returned to the bar at roughly the same time enabling results to be announced on the day.
Scoring was particularly close but congratulations must go to the team of Mark Clark / Adrian Beckinsale / Kevin Walsh and Lionel Hatch who returned to the clubhouse with a net 60.

With many members still in the clubhouse the opportunity was also taken by the President, Peter Garnett, to present his annual prize to Tony Denmead.
