I was honoured to be asked to referee the Seniors Summer Pairs Final between 

Peter Jay/Martin Brown and Tony Carman/Brian Willsher.

It was a bright September morning as the match started. It was very even for the first six holes with both pairs winning two holes and two halved. At this point Peter and Peter decided to press the accelerator and won the next three so were three up at the turn.

The first three holes on the back 9 were even with a win a piece and one halved so the pressure was building on Tony and Brian who had missed one or two putts to get back into the match. Peter and Martin held their nerve and won one hole in the next three holes and two halved to close out the match 4 & 3.

Altogether an enjoyable morning with good golf played and no lost balls.
