SENIOR CAPTAINS CHARITY DAY - 28th JULY
Many thanks for the amazing and generous support today to everyone in the section.
With excellent Goldilocks weather, (not too warm, not too cold, just about right) the day started off with numerous attempts to relieve everyone of their money, through the raffle, the sale of mulligans, the putting competition and the promise of the auction to come.
All 60 participants on the day made their way to their respective tees, awaiting the klaxon start at 08.30. With NTP’s on the 3rd, 9th, 11th and 18th, a NTP in 2 on 17 and a beat the pro challenge on 7, there promised to be prizes galore. Everyone got in the spirit of the day and despite enjoying the golf, people were desperate to get back in to the clubhouse to see who had won the bag of onions and the tin of baked beans in the raffle!
After lunch of a hearty portion of lasagne with a nice healthy salad, we set about giving out some prizes, followed by a short presentation from Adam and Corinne of the First Responders. Andy Cracknell then hosted a quickfire round of heads and tails before the commencement of the auction. We raised in excess of £3000 in the auction alone and with other sums raised through the various fringe competitions and the raffle, a grand total of about £5,500 on the day was generated. This is sure to be swelled when everything has been included.
The winners’ on the day as follows:
