The day was overshadowed by the news about Allen Smith, who sadly passed away overnight. However, from the clubhouse, confusion was on display in abundance. The competition set up as a betterball stableford left everyone uncertain of how they should be scoring. From the debris, we were able to calculate that under Hambro scoring, Suffolk were the victors by 8 holes. Further confusion again arose with, despite being told twice, people unsure as to why they should put their scores into ClubV1? This is a competition that will need to be better managed in 2026.
