A good match played on the Constable course in cool and windy conditions. As often happens in match-play, none of the first six holes were halved - both Phil & Colin Pottle winning 3 holes each with a mix of pars and a birdie. Phil then had a purple-patch winning 5 holes on the trot from the 8th hole, and when we halved the par 3 13th in pars, Phil was 5 up with 5 to play.
With Colin needing to push for a birdie on the long 14th, both players were within striking distance of the pin after two shots and after not quite managing to make his par, Colin conceded the match with Phil having two putts to win from 3ft.
A good match played in the right spirit.
Many congratulations Phil
