17 teams in the 2026 St Andrews Greensomes held on the Gainsborough course in very good condition and a credit to the greenstaff considering the very difficult dry summer conditions. Fortunately the 'promised' heavy rain showers did not materialise, only a very gentle shower during early holes.

Congratulations must go to the team of John Williams and Matt Glover weho returned the highly creditable score of 43 points just edging out Dick Lumsden and Roger Davies - it must have been a great round by John and Matt as Dick and Roger birdied 3 of the par 3s - each for 4 points.
