Match 1
1 down after 9. Outplayed by Benton Hall and went 4 down. Pulled the game back to finish 2&1 loss as they had with 10 pars and one birdie
Match 2
With only one person playing Brian R’s par won the first hole then stepped back and let Ian take over and he played wonderful golf with a bag full of pars and birdies and then we quickly went 5 up. By the time Brian returned to the game the deed was done and we had won 7&6.
Match 3
Tight match - Benton Hall won the 15th with a birdie to go 2 up. The SbN team parred the 16th & 17th to go level and then won the 18th with a net par.
Match 4
Bob & David were the fourth pair, against a couple of decent players. Unfotunatly for them Bob was in good form firing in shots with great accuracy. David commented it was a nice game of golf in ideal conditions. The lower handicapper of our opposition replied, maybe but I've never lost by such a large margin.
Match 5
A very solid performance with Peter holing everything on the front 9 before Brian caught fire on the second nine. Comfortable 4&3 victory.
Match 6
Won by SbN 4 & 3. A good match played in the right spirit. SbN 1 down at the turn but then won 5 of the next 6 holes to turn the match around.
Match 7
The SbN team were always chasing from the 3rd hole. Unfortunately putts kept shaving holes resulting in too many halves rather than wins and at crucial moments Benton Hall won holes to move away and win 5 & 4.
Match 8
Peter & Phil blended well together and played some good golf in a comfortable 5 & 4 win. Peter knew most of the Benton Hall team as he used to be a marshal at B.H for several years. Benton Halls Alan said to Peter before the match that Peter had won his last 5 matches against Benton Hall and they were out for revenge !!! Both Alan & Wayne were excellent company in what was a most enjoyable game
