INTER CLUB MATCH v BENTON HALL - 1st AUGUST

BENTON HALL        4 ½     SbN          3½

Sorry if your reporter not up to much as suffering a bit at present (ahhhhhh)  ....anyhow, here we go, and start by saying I thought the course was well presented, and interesting as always.

Captain Kevin & Phil Boyland ( Eagle man ) managed a 1 up win...( full of birdies and pars apparently)

Malcolm Norton and Ian McKay losing 2 & 1 summed up by declaring it was due to very generous handicaps enjoyed by the opposition...despite their birdie!

Bob Filer and Tony Reeves losing 3 & 2 was a fair result considering Bentons low handicappers close to a par round....a birdie on 1st. and Tony's np not making much of a dent.

PJ and JJ, Messrs Jay and Jardine lost 4 & 3....not much detail, but PJ looked a bit down over dinner, and JJ smiled through his pain.

Dave Seymour and John Parkinson lost 3 & 2.   No doubt the loss was largely a result of John's shot donations, still, I'm sure Dave enjoyed a nice glass of wine at dinner!

Bill Kemter and Mal Jones......a win of 2 up....aided by bidies and chip ins did the trick for our duo.

Steve  Mitchell and Dick Lumsdens 1 up win never had more than 1 hole in it.
3 down at the turn was converted to A/S with Dicks birdie on 18 wrapping it up.

Andy Cracknell and Graham Cork halved the match.    VC Corky made good use of his shots while Andy looked on..( apart from a birdie and a few pars!!)

So, sadly gentlemen,  a 4.5/3.5 loss to SBN

Many thanks Sir Bob for your report on the Benton Hall disappointments.
