An overcast day producing irritating spots of rain throughout did not spoil intense but friendly competion! Gainsborough course.

 

3 down after 4 holes they were contemplating a pretty unsavory result but by the turn had taken it back to 2 down and started their comeback. Despite Graham having to wrestle with a fallen branch behind the 10th green they clawed their way back to being 1 down on the 18th tee. Dick then used his 1 remaining shot wisely with a net 2 earning a well deserved half.

 

Both started well going 2 up after 3 holes and stayed ahead until the 13th when Mike & Stuart {BH} went 2 ahead. Our boys then staged an amazing recovery to draw level before winning 2 & 1 on the 17th. A very enjoyable game had by all.

 

Bill said they had a very enjoyable morning but were rogered. Enough said!

They were knackered after 9 holes.

 

A great match played in good spirit, only a few putts here and there made the difference with Pete holing a 20ft putt to secure the win on the last hole.

 

The 'Race to Woodhall Spar' champ and the double Rushmere Pairs champ came clattering back to reality and were stuffed 3 & 2.

'How the not so mighty fallen' was heard echoing round the clubhouse.. Dave & Richard {BH} however remained humble and didn't sneer once !

A very close match with never more than a couple of holes in it. SBN held a 2 shot lead  after 12 holes but {BH} slowly clawed their way back to lie all square after 17 but a par on the par 5 16th was enough for {BH} to claim a close win. It was an enjoyable and very competitive match against  friendly opponents.

SBN gelled well but didn't halve a hole until the 8th despite ' Magnificent Micks' best efforts. All square after 14 then Iain parred the last 2 to close out the match. The only highlight was Iain's back to back birdies on 9 & 10 but only won one of them !!!!

Really good game 4 up after 5 holes before {BH} started they comeback. SBN were only 2 up After 9. The highlight of the round was Ray having gone in the water on the 10th in 2 then put his 4th to the back of the green and sunk his  50 ft putt for a 5 to win the hole !! SBN picked up a further 2 holes and the game finished on the 13th hole.
