The SBN team travelled to Chingford in confident mood, looking to reach the last 16 of this year’s competition.

The weather was chilly with a blustery wind, making it difficult to stop approach shots on the greens which had recently been cut and ironed. The course otherwise, was in very good condition.

It soon became apparent that this was going to be a tough match, when we found that all but one of our players were giving significant numbers of shots to their opponents. In fact the team gave a total of 55 shots to the opposition. It is very difficult to win away from home at the best of times, but this made things a very tough ask.

The highlight for SBN was the performance of Mark Clark who won 5 & 3 despite having to give his opponent 6 shots.

A disappointing outcome but all the matches were played in a very friendly spirit.
