We are very sad to advise members of the passing of Tony Smith, very suddenly following a short period spent in hospital - Tony was just a few weeks short of his 90th birthday.

Tony was well respected throughout the section, serving as Seniors Captain in 1994 / 95 before then going on to serve as Club Captain a few years later.

Tony thoroughly enjoyed his golf at Stoke by Nayland but the hills and the fact that many of his friends had joined Colchester GC resulted in his move to Colchester several years ago - a move that he seemed to regret for many years.

His funeral is being held at Colchester Crematorium on the 3rd July at 11:45 and any members that are able to attend will be made very welcome.

Our thoughts are very much with Tony's wife and family at this difficult time.
