We are very sad to advise our members and friends of the passing of David after a long period of illness, very bravely borne. Despite his health issues over the past few years David still visited the club very regularly to join in the, sometimes fierce, discussions about Ipswich Town and Colchester United with his long standing Blue Arrow mates.

David was a Stoke 'Original' joining the club over 50 years ago and has been a keen and active supporter ever since, elected as Club Captain and Seniors Captain in 2002. Sport was very important to David and he was for many years a fierce competitor, not only on the golf course, but also at both hockey and bowls - as several of our members can testify. 

David will be very much missed in and around Stoke by Nayland. May he now Rest In Peace.
