CAPTAIN’S CHARITY WALK - OCTOBER 2025
As a conclusion to his superb fundraising challenge during his year as Captain Kevin, ably supported by Mark Clark, set off from Trimley Marshes Nature Reserve via Ipswich docks and Stoke Bridge, finishing at Pin Mill - a total of 26 miles. An excellent challenge.
Following the conclusion of their efforts Kevin has circulated this note ……
“Mark Clark and I completed our walk on Tuesday at approximately 3.15 pm, having started at 07.00. After a couple of pit stops for snacks, we walked for about 7 ½ hours, at an average speed of 3.5 mph. Surprisingly, neither of us found it as tiring as we had expected, and both reported at SbN the following morning for the Senior Bogey competition, although we won’t mention the scores!
Our efforts have raised approximately £1,000 for The Nayland Community First Responders. This was way beyond our expectations, and we thank everybody who has donated to this great cause. It has helped boost my total raised during the year to somewhere in the region of £10,000, which is absolutely staggering. We would also like to thank everyone for their words of support and encouragement during the event.
This just highlights what a great bunch the SbN seniors are.
Many thanks again. Kevin Price - Senior Captain (just for another 4 days)”
Never has a beer tasted sooooooo good !! Well earned.
